Each trip we've taken over
the last several years has been with the help of family and friends,
and this trek was no different with many thank you's in order.
- So many thanks Uncle Eric
for checking in at the ranch while we were away, making sure
the fish didn't starve and piling the bills up on the kitchen
table. We enjoyed the texts from home and wished you were with
us at the Wizards game!
- JP... the new travel bags
were excellent. We crammed the two of them with food, drink,
maps, all the cards and ID, pictures drawn in the art galleries
and our fancy yankee dollars worth $1.20 Canadian. Very much
appreciated.
- Joanie-Joan-Joan... the kids
love you!!! Thanks for the Nintendo DS and everything else!!!
- Thanks so much to the Cleveland
Park tour guides... the two fine gentlemen who led us from the
National Zoo to the National Cathedral (and the irony is not
lost on this being the Samaritan section). They knew we were
lost, they knew how to get there via transit, and they took us.
A wonderful gesture made in a city full of strangers.
- Angie and Julian... thanks
so much for the use of the GPS. For the trips down and back it
became a welcome friend. I know I was glad to have it on the
dash when I found myself lost in downtown Washington at 6:30
am!!! It's officially on our list of "must haves" before
our next family trip.
- Once again, our long lost
cousins from Conneticutt opened up their home and welcomed us
on Thursday and Friday. We just can't say enough about how Steve,
Jen and the girls make us feel so at ease and "put us back
together" after our lengthy drives south. Your hospitality,
as usual, was beyond and we are indebted. See you in the summer,
if not before. Thanks... and thanks again.
- Thanks to the Porter's for
arranging for us to stay in Appleton, although we ended up making
the mad dash for the border on Saturday. We expect that it won't
be too long before we're by your way again, and hope that you'll
be dropping in the next time you cross through NS. See you all
soon and stay in touch.
