Samaritans
This trip was made so much
better by special friends along the way.
- Steve & Jen, relatives
of ours, opened their home to us and were absolutely outstanding
hosts during our vacation. They moved south and had mentioned
several times that we were more than welcome to head down for
a visit. We decided it was time to take them up on the offer.
They opened there home to us and shared their knowledge from
previous trips to NYC. Best of all, I got to know them as a family
and we shared some important suppertime and evening conversation
which has rekindled the friendship. We hope to have them visit
us in the summer and maybe trek to our cottage in the wilderness
of Nova Scotia (which is basically the opposite of NYC).
- On our trip home we stayed
with "The Porter's". We had vacationed with this family
previously and share many common experiences from university
years. They opened their home to us on our last night away putting
us up in their wonderfully renovated overhead space overlooking
the family property. We had a great night and our children met
again after a year and a half apart. We shared supper and ales
and some "teacher" conversation.
