Tips for Friends

I'm building a bulleted list of things which made our trip much easier.

  • We purchased a couple of great maps of New England and New York (laminated) which served our puprose both on the trip to and around the city itself. Worth the $8.00.
  • Spend a day there with someone who has done it before... it helped us immensely when looking for the lay of the land (ie. transportation, parking, food, etc.)
  • As newbies... we found a route in a stuck to it.
  • We used AM Channel 1010 to keep up with city wide traffic concerns.
  • Take lots of money... New York can get expensive.
  • For the long trip, the DVD player Jen gave us for the trip home was a welcome distraction for our two children.
