Reflections

After a couple of days to consider the trip, there are many items to note before the memory fails. I've collected them under the following categories:

Sports in New York: From our sampling this weekend there are a couple of items to note. New Yorkers love their sports. They were very knowledgable about the intricacies of Football and Hockey (yes hockey... something we Canadians tend to get a bit snobby about). Their also damn vocal, and don't mind cheering or booing the play of the moment.

Giants Fan: Even in New York (that monster we hear of in the south), the kindness of a stranger can be expected and should be reciprocated.

Travelling with the young: I had wondered whether it was appropriate to grab Pete from school and take him on this type of journey. However, after a mealtime conversation and listening to him describe how to travel from New York state across to New Jersey and back, I knew I had made the right decision. He held his own in every way... can't imagine knowing that when I was nine.
