Tips for Friends

Please find this list of things which made our trip much easier.

  • We had great maps of New England and New York (laminated) which served our puprose both on the trip to and around the city itself. Worth the $8.00.
  • Don't be scared to "ask" if you're off track... Steve did this and it saved us Sunday kick-off. New Yorkers are more than willing to discuss (yell) routes.
  • I got travel insurance from Blue Cross for Peter and I... it was about $60.00 but well worth it for peace of mind.
  • Plan a route and stick to it, Google Maps provides great directions!
  • Watch out for holiday weekend traffic... we got nailed Friday Night.
  • We used AM Channel 1010 to keep up with city wide traffic concerns.
  • Canadian Bank Cards work just as well in US... don't be without a few bucks in your pocket cause you'll need them.
  • For the long trip we brought a DVD player Joan loaned us which helped Peter through the ample drive.
