Maine ’16

On the road!

There haven’t been too many 8-10 days stretches over the past 5 years that we haven’t saddled up for a trip somewhere over the Christmas vacation. Most often those journeys have been over black-top and within a couple of days driving, including Boston, Atlanta, NYC and even a Disney flight to Orlando. We’ve also had the remarkable good fortune to continue travelling as a family, although it now takes more organization of calendars, work schedules, etc!

With a 4 day window we decided on Maine… “Mother Nature” pending! Should conditions allow, we anticipated a round of shopping at a few of the outlets around Bangor, a visit with family friends, and perhaps even some outdoor time (we loaded a bag of winter gear and snowshoes). However, there was no real itinerary to speak of and we would ramble as appropriate. Thus, upfront planning was minimal and not much required beyond drivers licence, credit card and passports. Kind of uncharacteristic for me… I think it’s a sign that I’m a far more relaxed traveler than I was 10 years ago. Low drag… follow along for the details and twists.
