Las Vegas 24′ – Day 7

Friday was the return travel day… and it began with a flight delay 😂! We were held up departing from Las Vegas (some sort of announcement in regard to staff being unavailable at Pearson before 6:00 AM), which managed to single-handedly squeeze the rest of the day. The delay was only 1/2 an hr at Harry Reid, but with a short Pearson layover, we had to scramble to make the Halifax connection. We had prepped with ArriveCan and YYZ Express information in place. Further, we got lucky in the end as the pilot regained some of the void during the flight, creating just enough time after our flight to grab a coffee, get to a washroom, and make Zone 5 boarding for Gate D. 😮‍💨

All was much smoother on the Halifax leg, to the point where the app noted the flight left early. Cloudy skies so no airplane views of New Scotland this flyover. Landing and unloading were easy-peasy… gotta love when you don’t have to stand in front of that luggage carousel. Ahead of the pack, we managed a quick redeeming of our parking package from the Alt and were headed east. Bare roads and minimal traffic allowed us to hustle home to rest our foot weary and sleepless bodies. When we arrived home, Pete & Emilie had flowers and supper at the ready for our stumble past the threshold (🙏). With clear mind and some rest in hand, I’ll take a look at a “Reflections” post in the upcoming days. We’d accomplished a great run to Vegas, where we left it all on the table. It had left us with that ever important sign of a good vacation… when you’re happy to be home! 😉
