Days 6 & 7 saw us make two large jumps towards home… Connecticut to Bangor and Bangor to Antigonish. Being big driving days, we focused on safely getting to the expected destination. The journey to Bangor was quick with road/weather conditions perfect for travel.
Janie and Monica had “shopping” in their eyes upon arrival in Bangor. After a quick check in at the Hampton they scorched out to see what was on sale. Peter and I researched potential offerings of movies showing downtown, with the hope of selecting something all would enjoy.
Deciding on The Hobbit, we all headed out after some Papa Johns to find some big fluffy theatre seats. Solid picture… Lots of dragons, swords, Bilbo and Gandalf! Dwarves galore. Enjoyed with popcorn and licorice. Then home and to bed!
Early check out… Our plan was to hit the duty free in Houlton at opening and then cross the border. Janie had all her receipts crunched into the iPhone and entry was once again smooth. I expect that someday we’ll get pulled aside for a random scrutinization… But not on this trip! Then an easy ride across New Brunswick, down the spine of Nova Scotia, to finally nestle into a few flurries in Marshy Hope just outside of Antigonish… The only flakes we encountered the entire journey!
