Maine/Quebec ’19 – Day Six

Cafe Latte Jump Start

Gotta say, this one was a real mix… from “full on” to afternoon naps! It all started with me being up at the crack of dawn and looking for a coffee. After a brisk walk in the freshly fallen snow, I ended up alone at The Cosmos (breakfast joint) ahead of everyone else! I settled in and texted and the girls who made their way along shortly thereafter. Truly, it wasn’t a fantastic meal, but I really enjoyed the big ol’ coffee. Then back to the hotel for… guess what? A Big Kink!

Inox Flight Board

Snore…. Well, by noon we were set up for the afternoon. Snacks & a day drinking opportunity were just around the corner at the Inox Brewery. Fun afternoon watching the World Junior game with Team Canada drubbing the Czech team (7-2) and securing first in Group B standings. Great spot, with friendly service and awesome food.

New Years on Plains of Abraham

Follow up… back to watch the Leafs at the Hotel Room. Great afternoon treat and a Leaf win! Once again… it got pretty sleepy. To lift the energy, we struck out early evening for an hour adventure snowshoeing on the Plains of Abraham. We had a perfect trek, in the steadily falling snow, around the park. We love to get out and snowshoe when the opportunity arises, and the fresh snow, winds and ongoing flurries made this scene idyllic!

Countdown Bling

The grand finale to the evening, the Bell Toboggan Festival, was the New Years Eve celebrations held immediately in front of the Hotel. It was some pretty serious set up! We dressed in our warmest and headed out to the free concert. Monica described the genre as EDM (Electronic Dance Music). Although not my usual selection, we wove our way through the crowd to a central location and held on for a dazzlin’ light and sound show by Loud Luxury. It was all about that bass… And the two DJ’s up front kept the crowd engaged. Lots going on! The countdown was especially flashy, with the rip and roar of fireworks added in. Glad we went out and caught the show. Bonne Anneè!
