Early August, noting a scant bit of “blue sky” in our schedules, afforded the opportunity to hit the road. With Monica at camp and Peter working, it would be just Janie and I, with no specific priorities beyond connecting with friends from Maine.
With a day or so of planning time available, we are cobbling a travel route together intending to explore roads and attractions not previously seen. Treks into NH and VT, the Lake Champlain district, and Cape Cod will be new to our travels. Return visits to Fall River, Fenway and Great Spruce Head Island hope to rekindle memories and friendships.

Another great blog and so nice to follow along on your trip. I’m always amazed at how you guys can squeeze so much into such a short period of time…. but I’m even more amazed that you always find time to squeeze such great food and drinks in. I’ve learned from you guys that ‘intense pre-planning’ is key to experiencing as much as possible in every city and town. Keep up the great posts.

We are planning on a visit to the JFK museum in Hyannis tomorrow… Janie has the iPhone at the ready. And maybe a local clam shack too… Yum!
